Taking Care of the Female Reproductive System in 7 Steps
- DO NOT SMOKE. Smoking damages your ovaries, interferes with the production of estrogen, and makes your eggs prone to genetic abnormalities.
- Maintain a healthy body weight. Weighing too much or too little can disrupt the production of estrogen.
- Practice safe sex. Some STD's can cause you to be infertile.
- Go to the gynecologist regularly. The doctor will check for abnormalities and screen you for cancer.
- Receive treatment recommendations from your doctor.
- Avoid vaginal infections. They can result in permanent damage. Clean yourself properly, change tampons regularly, take care of genital piercings, and stay out of contaminated water.
- Have good general health. Eat healthy, exercise regularly, and keep bad stress at a low.
