Urinary System Anatomy
- Kidneys: Responsible for making urine, removing waste form the blood, controlling the body's chemicals, keeping bones healthy, and making red blood cells.
- Ureters: The ureters are where the urine travels from the kidneys to the bladder (10-12 inches long).
- Bladder: The bladder stores urine until it is ready to empty through the urethra.
- Urethra: The tube that connects the bladder to the genitals for the removal of fluid. This tube is 18-20 cm long in male and 4 cm long in female.
